Pro Motion Hire focuses on tapeless production at Broadcast Video Expo 2010

London, UK – 4 January 2010 - Pro Motion Hire, London’s leading broadcast equipment hire company, will offer expert technical and practical advice for tapeless productions, from camera to playout, at Broadcast Video Expo 2010. The knowledgeable team will be sharing its expertise on Stand N56 in The Production Show section of the exhibition, which takes place at Earls Court, London from 16-18 February 2010.

Pro Motion Hire will showcase the latest Sony and Panasonic solid state cameras, which will be recording footage live at the show; the team will then demonstrate the ease and speed of tapeless workflows by dynamically ingesting, editing and playing out the material on the stand. Advice will also be available on a variety of production requirements, from lighting to lenses and microphones to VTRs, and there will be some special show offers available to visitors.

“As first time exhibitors at Broadcast Video Expo we are excited to be able to share our technical experience on all kinds of productions, and particularly tapeless workflows since this is a new area for many people,” said Duncan Martin, Director, Pro Motion Hire. “We have built our reputation on providing excellent service and advice, so this is a great opportunity for us to help existing and new clients to find the right equipment for their specific requirements.”

Pro Motion Hire invest in Panasonic P2

London, UK - 16th February 2010 - Pro Motion Hire today announced a new product offering for its customers with the acquisition of the Panasonic P2 range. The addition of the Varicam 2700 and 3000 cameras to the hire company means it can now provide tapeless solutions from both Panasonic and Sony.

The hire company, which has stocked Sony’s tapeless technology since 2007, identified the opportunity to equip new customers working in different genres particularly drama and documentaries. In addition it also means existing customers of Pro Motion Hire, which include Talkback Thames, Ricochet and Sky Works, can gain further impartial advice across the brands and continued exposure to the latest technology.

Duncan Martin, Managing Director of Pro Motion Hire said, “The acquisition of the P2 kit means we can offer the same high standard of tapeless kit and customer service to new producers and cameramen working in different genres and for different broadcasters than we’re used to dealing with. It’s a very exciting time for Pro Motion Hire.”

This means that Pro Motion Hire will now stock the Panasonic Varicam 2700 and 3000 alongside the already popular Sony kit including XD CAM EX1, EX3, EX350 and the high end XD CAM HD422.

“We are delighted Pro Motion has taken on these P2HD products. Both these Camcorders have proved to be true workhorses in the production world,” said Marc Irwin, Panasonic’s UK Marketing Manager. “This gives Panasonic another London base offering P2 to production and reinforces the need for high end tapeless workflow in all genres of programming. We expect there will be a high demand for these camcorders and Pro Motion will soon be requesting more cameras.”

The announcement comes as Pro Motion Hire exhibits as part of the Production Show at BVE 2010, stand N56. BVE takes place at Earls Court, 16th-18th February 2010.
